Lale Şevval Göncüoğlu is a journalism student at Northwestern University in Qatar, focusing on data-driven reporting, juvenile justice, and education reform. Her work centers on evidence-based storytelling and youth-focused policy reform. She has led interdisciplinary projects, including one as a 2025 Summer Undergraduate Research Grantee, conducting research on mental health and staffing compliance in Illinois juvenile correctional facilities. She is also the recipient of the 2022 Diana Award for her efforts to improve and develop girls’ and women’s education in Türkiye.
